UPSHUR PARK CLEAN UP – SUNDAY OCTOBER 11TH 10 AM-12 PM
Friends and neighbors large and small are invited to help clean-up Upshur Park this Sunday from 10:00am -12:00pm

AS A SPECIAL TREAT THERE WILL BE A CONCERT FROM 10:30-12:00 WITH ABBASUBI:
Abbasubi are Brooklyn, NY parents who were inspired by their children’s love of music and dance to start a sing-along in Spanish that has grown into a CD called, El Baile del Sombrero.  The dances, hats, puppets and sponges in the show will get families moving and laughing together!

So bring the whole family [and your gloves] to the park, Sunday the 11th.

The Friends of the Parks will supply the coffee, donuts, bagels, juice and bags.  Help us clear the brush, pick up trash and plant some bulbs to get the park ready for the winter.

No better way to end a beautiful weekend than with friends and neighbors at your local park!   If you have any questions, please contact Jason Fix at j491love@gmail.com or Paige Lee at Paigesmithlee@gmail.com

Hope to see you there!

EASTER EGG HUNT WRAP UP

This past Sunday the Friends of 16th Street Heights Parks and the 16th Street Heights Neighborhood Association sponsored a very successful Easter Egg Hunt for neighborhood families.  The weather didn’t cooperate on Saturday, but Sunday was a beautiful day to spend at the park.  We had over 50 kids hunting for eggs, many in their Easter finery.   A special thanks goes out to Charlie Saxon of Office Catering who provided muffins, bagels, fruit, coffee, and hot dogs for the event.  Thanks so much Charlie, you are too generous.

We would also like to thank all the parents/grandparents and other adults who pitched in to make it all happen.  It is wonderful to see such community spirit.  Can’t wait until next year!
