We are organizing a fall clean up in partnership with DC Parks and Recreation for Upshur Park on October 24, 2015 at 9:00am-11:00am. Volunteers are needed to participate in cleaning our neighborhood park! All tools and cleaning supplies will be provided. If you would like to bring your own items please do–especially your own gloves!

We need you! Friends of 16th Street Heights Parks is looking for community members and park users to step up and join in the fun of being on the Board of Directors! It is an exciting time for our community parks but we need some new people to help! Please join the Friends of 16th Street Heights Parks, the 16th Street Heights Civic Association and the DC Department of Parks and Recreation for our community’s annual Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4th from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Upshur Park, 4300 Arkansas Avenue, NW.
We have a fun-filled event planned, including arts and crafts, games, snacks, and three egg hunts: the first at 11:30 am; the second at noon; and the third at12:30 pm. We hope to see you there!
We need people to fill eggs! You buy the candy; we will deliver the plastic eggs to your door to fill. Please e-mail Carrie Beaudreau at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to fill eggs.

- Permanent signage
- Shade shelter
- Security lighting
- Drinking fountain
- Striping of the futsal court
The official “Ribbon Cutting” ceremony has been scheduled for Friday, September 13th at 10:00 AM. We hope that you’re able to make it!

We had a great day of landscaping this past Saturday at Hamilton Park. A HUGE thank you to Dan Barry, Carol Herwig, Brent Sisco, Charlie Myers, Channce Allen, Howard Ways and Adrian Hunnings who gave their whole day landscaping and plating trees. We can’t wait until spring to see it all in bloom. Thanks again to all the volunteers who came out!
