Upshur Park Playground Groundbreaking! September 8 10:30 AM

If you haven’t been to Upshur Park recently, you may not know that work has begun on the new Upshur Playground.  Yes, the dog park and playground are now under construction.  This is all such exciting news! Back in 2008, Council Member Bowser secured funding for DPR to develop plans for a new playground.  Through a community planning process with DPR, LAB (Landscape Architecture Bureau, the design firm contracted through DPR), and community members, a playground concept was drafted.  And at last, with lots of advocacy work, the playground is underway!!!!
Please  join us at the official ground-breaking on Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 10:30am. Mayor Fenty, Council Member Bowser, DPR Director Jesus Aguirre and others will be on hand to join in the event.
